उन्हाळ्यात उसावर यलो लीफ डिसिज म्हणजेच यलो लीफ सिंड्रोम रोगाचा प्रादुर्भाव होतो. दक्षिण भारतात या रोगाचे प्रमाण झपाट्याने वाढत असून, को ८६०३२ ही ऊसाची जात अधिक धोक्यात येण्याची शक्यता आहे. हा विषाणूजन्य रोग यलो लीफ व्हायरस या विषाणूमुळे होतो. रोगाचा प्रसार मावा कीड आणि बेण्याद्वारे होतो. रोगाच्या प्रादुर्भावामुळे ४ ते १० टक्के पर्यंत ऊस पीक आणि साखरेच्या उत्पादन घट येण्याची शक्यता असते.

This viral disease is caused by the yellow leaf virus. The disease is spread by aphids insects and beetles. Due to the outbreak of the disease, sugarcane crop and sugar production is likely to decline by 4 to 10 percent.
