‘‘अमेरिकेत कापसाचे दर गेल्यावर्षीच्या तुलनेत कमी आहेत. मात्र त्यानंतरही त्या देशात शेतकरी आत्महत्या का नाहीत? असा प्रश्न करीत केंद्र सरकारने कापूस उत्पादकांसाठीच्या आपल्या धोरणांचा पुनर्विचार करण्याची गरज आहे,’’ असे परखड मत शेतीप्रश्नांचे ज्येष्ठ अभ्यासक विजय जावंधिया यांनी व्यक्त केले.
"Cotton prices in the US are lower than last year. But even after that, why are farmers not committing suicide in that country? Asking this question, the central government needs to rethink its policies for cotton growers,'' said Vijay Javandhia, a senior scholar of agricultural issues.
